Jim is a member of several business and accounting organizations such as the Ohio Society of CPAs, American Association of CPAs, CCH Tax Software Customer Advisory Panel, and Purdue Club of Central Ohio Board Member. He is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (#16958) and provides consulting services throughout the United States. In 1980 he earned his MBA in Taxation & Tax Planning from the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University (cum laude) and in 1978 his BA in Communication from Purdue University.

Jim has gained extensive accounting experience and knowledge through senior accountant and management roles for a variety of companies and CPA firms throughout Los Angeles and the country; including Ernst & Young in Columbus, Ohio. He currently manages his own consulting firm James M. Sharvin CPA, MBA and provides Practice Valuations for dentists serving clients across the country. During his downtime, Jim is most happy playing golf with his three sons, reading a good book and traveling.
